Beauty | Holika Holika Pig Nose Clear Blackhead Deep Cleansing Oil Balm Review (Korean Skincare)

Oh heeey~ ♪(゚▽^*)ノ⌒☆

I'm so annoyed with myself. After finally getting back into a good habit and routine with my posts, I managed to fuck it all up, as per. My Polish friend from Uni came to stay with me for the past 2 weeks during resit period as she had two exams eleven days apart, and couldn't afford a hotel for that long. I'm surprised University doesn't offer some form of accommodation for international students that have to travel back for resit exams, some of which are several weeks apart, that's quite rude and incredibly inconveniencing for them! It's not like anyone's using the accommodation over summer, it's so dumb. I feel really bad for students who have to travel from further away than Poland. Co kurwa  (;¬_¬)

ANYWAYYY ahahahaha! Well, today's post is on the Deep Cleansing Oil Balm of the Pig-Nose Clear Black Head series by Holika Holika! You can find my previous review of the Perfect Sticker review, and my original haul post here.

I adore this Deep Cleansing Oil Balm! First off, it smells super refreshing, with a lemony citrus scent which smells just lovely (o^∀^) Given that I was rubbing this all over my nose for the past few weeks, I can tell you right now I really appreciated that it smelled nice ahahaha.

It's a fantastic balm that just melts into your skin, really. Again, I wasn't expecting any dramatic improvement given that my blackheads are so deeply ingrained into my pores that I doubt anything's going to ever really get rid of them (sigh), but I did see a small but pleasant improvement in their appearance. They seemed to look less dark and even a little bit smaller, and with the stage my blackheads are at, that's something I really appreciate! Unless I find a miracle product, I will have to be happy with tiny improvements such as these, and honestly I really am. y(^ヮ^)y

Any improvement, no matter how small, is still an improvement! Overall, I'm not expecting dramatic changes, and even a vague diminishing of the appearance of my blackheads gets a thumbs up from me ahahaha.

Beauty | Soap & Glory Kick Ass Blur and Brighten Crayon Review

Hellooooooooo beauties!

How are you all this lovely day?

Another item from my Boots haul is this Soap & Glory Kick Ass Blur and Brighten Crayon! For the past year or so I've been pretty obsessed with Soap and Glory's products, especially their Kick Ass range, and as I've been desperate to find a concealer that's lighter than my skin tone, I thought I'd give this crayon a go ヾ(´▽`*;)ゝ”

It's actually bright! It's actually what it says on the tin ahahaaha. Not only that, it doesn't just produce orange smudges when applied to my problem areas or dark circles like 90% of other concealers I've tried. It's actually lighter than my skin tone, so dark circles and blemishes actually disappear!

Plus, it does actually blur as well! It has a light texture so after blending out what I put under my eyes, it covers my nose, where it covers my pores and blackheads, which is incredibly useful for me ahaha as I have terrible pores/blackheads on my nose. This Blur and Brighten Crayon is fantastic for adding just that little bit of extra blur to what I would consider my worst-afflicted skin, making it look poreless and smooth (´ω`*)ネー

Have you tried this Blur and Brighten Crayon? Are you a fan of Soap & Glory's Kick Ass range? Let me know in the comments below!

Fashion | Liz Lisa (リズリサ) Autumn 2015 Collection (Japanese Fashion)

Hi all!

I honestly had no idea you guys liked my Japanese fashion posts so much, until I saw that my 2013 Liz Lisa post was one of my top 10 most popular posts! So, thank you, that's awesome  *(*´∀`*)☆

So, here's my follow up! Liz Lisa's Autumn 2015 collection, which boasts the theme "Innocent French Girl". Let's take a look d(^^*)

Phew! One thing I don't like about these Japanese fashion posts is that the pictures on the websites are always blocked or grouped together, so 90% of the time, no matter what brand I'm doing, I have to do a vast amount of cutting and resizing in order for the pictures to look good on my blog.

But I digress ahahaha. Look at how pretty this Autumn collection is! I'm loving how much of a transition this collection offers for people, with clothing you can wear at the end of summer until the beginning of winter. It's all about the transitions! Darker floral patterns, sweatshirts and jumpers, and layering, including THOSE TRENCHCOATS, oh my god ahahaha  (。♥‿♥。)

I'm usually not that big a fan of Liz Lisa clothing as it's just too much on the feminine and frilly side for me, but this Autumn collection is just so nice! Although, the skirts are a little much for me personally. I like the muted, neutral tones combined with the darker maroons, navies, and black, I think they provide a nice contrast as well as showing that transition from summer colours and clothing to autumn and winter colours and clothing. I think they offset each other really nicely to make a lovely outfit, and with the right layering you could wear any of these items of clothing at any time during the year.

What do you think of this collection? Are you a fan of Liz Lisa's clothing? Are there any brands (not just Japanese!) with Autumn/Winter collections that you're loving right now? Let me know in the comments below!

Beauty | Soap & Glory Archery 2-in-1 Brow Filling Pencil and Brush in Blondeshell Review

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!

How are you all?

Hope you're having a great day! (≧∇≦)キャー♪

Don't know why I'm feeling especially chipper today, but I'm just gonna roll with it ahahaha. Here's my review of the Soap & Glory Archery 2-in-1 Brow Filling Pencil and Brush! Just realised that 5 out of the 6 products from my little Boots haul are Soap & Glory ahahaa, some of which I didn't even need, when I actually have a few items I really, really, really need to re-purchase ahahaha!

Apologies for the photos of my face, I'd literally just woken up and scraped my hair back, I was still in my pjs ahaha.

My eyebrows are the bane of my life ahaha, especially my left one as it just refuses to grow in properly, or correctly. Honestly, I have such difficulty with them, they take the longest to do out of my entire makeup routine, and I actually dread doing them. They're never right, and as they're so pale and sparse (lookin' at you, lefty), it's also easy to overdo them, or make them look just super unnatural and fake. The fake look usually occurs when old lefty is so sparse, that I'm literally drawing on skin rather than brow to make it vaguely match the right one  (;¬д¬)

This Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil is literally the best option I've ever tried! It's become my Holy Grail brow pencil, as every other one I've ever tried has, according to my boyfriend, made me look like Groucho Marx (cheers bae). However, I do agree to a certain extent, as both my skintone and eyebrow colour is very pale, plus with blonde hair other brow pencils I've tried just look way, way too harsh and dark on my face. Therefore, I'm sure you can guess that I was pretty over the moon to find this Blondeshell Archery pencil by Soap & Glory!

This is my second repurchase of the pencil, and I can tell you right now it won't be my last! I feel as though it looks natural with my (unnatural) hair colour and skintone, and my eyebrows never look overdone or too dark. I'd really recommend it to those of you who are of the blonde or pale disposition σ(゚ー^*)

TV | Just Watched: Grace and Frankie (Sunday Shorts)

Hi there, beauties! How are you all doing?

Welcome to another of my Sunday Shorts posts! Today, I'll be talking about yet another Netflix Original series, Grace and Frankie. Check out the trailer below  ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

I absolutely adore this show. I watched it all the way through twice within two weeks! I didn't mean to ahaha, I enjoyed it that much that I was looking for something similar in the "Because you watched 'Grace and Frankie'" section, but there was nothing similar enough there so I just watched it again!

Like always, I won't tell you more than what the trailer does. Basically, both Grace (Jane Fonda) and Frankie's (Lily Tomlin) husbands decide to divorce them, in order to marry each other! Whaaaaaaaaaat ヽ(゚Д゚)ノ This is like, after fifty~ years of marriage, when they're in their seventies, and after spending that long together, thinking you know someone, to have that bombshell dropped? Phew, forget about it!

It's an incredibly good show! Honestly, it's fantastic at showing both sides to the story, because obviously at first you're angry at the husbands for betraying Grace and Frankie, but then you learn how they've been in love and hiding it for decades, and it's just a great and brutally honest example of how nothing is black and white, especially in relationships.

I enjoyed this so much. It's incredibly refreshing to have a show centered on the later stages of life, and to have a show focused on the end of a relationship, and how it makes way for new beginnings and connections. It was a fantastic reality check, as you honestly never know how your life is going to turn out, and the terrifying knowledge that you aren't always going to know the person you're with 100%, even if you've been together over 50 years, people always surprise you. What a terrifying thought, eh! (,,#゚Д゚)

But no really, Grace and Frankie is charming, honest, funny, and so much more. I would really recommend it to anyone who fancies whiling away their Sunday afternoon on Netflix ahaha, it's very witty and genuinely lovely. Just very enjoyable to watch, really ^ω^

Have you watched Grace and Frankie? Are there any series you're watching on Netflix right now? Let me know in the comments below!

Beauty | Holika Holika Pig Nose Clear Blackhead Perfect Sticker Review (Korean Skincare)

Hello, my lovelies!

Hope you've all had a nice day. Friday tomorrow!  (⌒▽⌒)☆

I posted a while back about my Holika Holika haul, where I bought all six items of the Pig-Nose Black Head Clear series, a skincare series designed to specifically target and remove black heads! While my skin has improved overall thanks to my Missha Chocolate Latte Cleansing Foam, I'm still stuck with deeply ingrained blackheads I've had since my teenage years, most prominently across my nose, sadly a very noticeable area (´_`。)

These Perfect Stickers are the first item of the series I tried, and as this one is more instant-results than the others, which I'll need to use for a few weeks for any noticeable difference to appear (or not), I'm able to review it after just a few uses. So, here we go!

Don't mind my bare face; thank god for my camera's soft-focusing ahaha. Probably unsurprisingly, these Perfect Stickers aren't that great. I've yet to find any sort of T-zone related blackhead-removing sticker or strip that really has any effect on my blackheads. I will say they looked a little less dark or prominent after each use, but only because I was looking exceedingly closely, it wasn't like I ripped them off and was like, oh wow!

However, for the price and the cute and fun packaging these Perfect Stickers aren't a bad purchase. I'm glad I tried them, and if you have blackheads that aren't as deeply ingrained as mine, then these might actually make a difference for you! To be honest, they're probably best for prevention of future black heads. As for me, these don't make as big a difference as the other products in the series might, so I'll carry on using the Deep Cleansing Oil Balm and will hopefully have a review for you in a couple of weeks (o^∀^)

Have you tried any Holika Holika products? Are you using any skincare that targets blackheads at the moment? Let me know in the comments below!

Fashion | Rienda (リエンダ) Early Autumn 2015 Collection Co-Ordinates (Japanese Fashion)

Happy pre-hump day!  ⊂((・▽・))⊃

Or, y'know, happy Tuesday or whatever ahaha.

Welp, sure has been a while since I did any fashion-related posts, let alone Japanese fashion! The last time I think was 2013 for multiple brands, including Reinda. But, I saw that people were coming to my blog looking for the 2015 Autumn/Winter collections, and I'm more than happy to oblige!

So, here's I think an almost preview of Rienda's upcoming Autumn/Winter 2015 collection, with a showcase of co-ordinates (sort of a Japanese term for outfits)! And some of them are so cute!! ♡o。.(✿ฺ。 ✿ฺ)

I do personally quite adore Rienda, as while some Japanese fashion is known for being quite over the top (think Lolita fashion - all extreme frills, all the time), Rienda boasts a very classic, simple style, which I find these co-ordinates showcase quite well.

These are what I would call wardrobe staples. Like, when Gok Wan was all about a capsule wardrobe? I'm reminded of that when I see this; plain colours on items of clothing that can be mixed and matched, with bold pops of classic colour perfect for Autumn, such as a burgundy-red and mustard-yellow, easily complementing the whites, dark greys, blacks, and blues. LOVE. IT. If the shipping charge wasn't ridiculous getting clothing from Japan to England, I'd probably buy about 60-80% of these co-ordinates ahaha (ignoring accessories - I'm a Plain Jane when it comes to them, I have one necklace that I wear every day, and hats just do not suit me paha).

One thing I'm not a fan of though when it comes to Japanese fashion, are the peplum style items they won't quit throwing out there, both skirts and tops. I'm just not a fan. The peplum skirts don't bother me, but the t-shirts and tops always look too short and with peplum on top of that, they just wouldn't suit my figure. I like over-sized tops, shirts, and jumpers paired with more form-fitting skirts, shorts, leggings, etc. as I'm not too confident in my stomach and hips area, so that's just my personal preference (o≧▽゚)oニパッ

I'll have to have a look at some other Japanese fashion brands to see if there are any distinctive trends for Autumn/Winter, but so far I'm really liking what Rienda are previewing!

Do you like Rienda's early Autumn/Winter 2015 collection? Are there any other Japanese fashion brands you're liking at the moment, or would like to see a post on? Let me know in the comments below!

TV | Just Watched: Sense8 (Sunday Shorts)

Good evening, all my fellow lazy Sundayers!

This Sunday Shorts piece will be focused on the Netflix Original series Sense8, a science fiction TV series that I finished watching a couple of weeks ago. It's intense, has a unique plot, and is very interesting to watch! So let's dive in  (⌒▽⌒)☆

I won't say anymore than what you can see from the trailer/first episode kind of deal. Sense8 revolves around eight people who discover that they are "sensates"; people emotionally and mentally linked with seven other individuals from across the world. Their journey begins after each one of them witnesses the suicide of their 'mother' Angelica, which allows them to be effectively reborn, as sensates.

It's pretty freaking cool ahaha. While I'd always feel as though my privacy was being invaded, being linked to seven other people, being able to speak their language, use their skills, their knowledge, and know that you're never truly alone? It's a fascinating premise, and if their lives weren't threatened by those who sought to destroy them, I'd be pretty happy if I was one of them. But, there's a downside to everything, and in the show Sense8 each character is effectively on the run from the minute they're reborn, from the man who effectively drove their 'mother' to suicide in order to escape him.

For reals, Netflix are just rolling out top quality shows now, one after the other, and this is one of them. Honestly, such an interesting idea! I was hooked from the trailer to be honest, I thought it was just such a unique storyline, and ended up binging all twelve episodes over the next couple of days. I would seriously recommend it, it covers everything from culture, sexuality, violence, religion, you name it. It can't get boring 'cause no two characters are even slightly the same!

I would seriously recommend this show! Have you watched Sense8? Have you liked any other Netflix Original shows? If you have any recommendations, then let me know in the comments below!
