How are you all? I'm back with another review, this time of the It's Skin Babyface Mascara! I got it in #2 Volume Setting Black, as I'm all about the volume when it comes to my eyelashes! I've got a bit of added natural extra length thanks to my Rapidlash Eyelash Enhancing Serum (which I'll be doing a review on soon), so I'm after my own Holy Grail mascara which gives me the va-va-voom I want (“⌒∇⌒”)
So, let's dive in to the review!
How adorable is the packaging?? It's just such a shame that I'm not a big fan of this mascara o(>< )o
Ugh, I wanted to like this so much! It's cute, it's cheap, but nope. It's soooooo clumpy!! I did two coats, the first one was both thick enough and dark enough for me, but the payoff was different for each eye so they looked uneven, so I did a second coat to even them out. Big mistake.
The second coat went on so thick, it just clumped on to the first layer in a horrendous manner. I normally wear two coats with my usual go-to Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Flash Extensions mascara, but the contrast is immense, my S&G is light and fine whereas this It's Skin Babyface Mascara is thick and heavy. Ugh, so heavy. My eyelashes felt incredibly heavy when it was wet and then when it dried it just felt uncomfortable, as if it were about to flake off in giant clumps into my eyes. It was quite irritating on my eyes, and did flake a little for the rest of the day, I constantly found little black speckles across my cheekbones until I took my makeup off (；¬д¬)
Whilst my eyelashes looked alright after two coats of this, they didn't feel alright, and besides I much prefer how they look in my regular S&G mascara, plus that comes with none of the irritation. I'm pretty sure that this is the first It's Skin product I've tried, which is a shame, but I've heard good things about other products, so I won't let this put me off (o^∀^)
