Beauty | Tonymoly Panda's Dream Brightening Eye Base Review (Korean Cosmetics)

Hello all! Welcome to number 2 out of the 8 reviews of Korean make-up items I bought from eBay! This is the Tonymoly Panda's Dream Brightening Eye Base, and is designed to help lessen the appearance of dark circles, and make your eye area appear bright and healthy.

Available to buy here from beautynetkorea's eBay shop (I've bought from here often, 10/10!).

My Mum always told me to check foundation on the inside of your wrist as it's the palest part of your exposed skin, plus I'd already got swatches all over my hands in this picture ahahaha. As you can see, just one swipe of this Brightening Eye Base shows up quite clearly even on a very pale, shadowless area of my skin!

I'm seriously so impressed with this product, it's my go to base now, despite the fact that I bought a brand new primer just last month for nearly £20! Ugh, I digress ahahaha. I use it for everything, I'm surprised I've got any left and I've only had it a week ahahaha, although I must mention that there's a lot more in the tube than may appear, it goes down quite a way so you needn't fear running out any time soon ヾ(。・ω・。)

It works wonders on my awful deep purple dark eye shadows as its main function as a Brightening Eye Base, and it also works on blemishes, large pores, you name it! It's my new favourite multi-concealer, it does an amazing job on brightening up my eye area and more, plus it looks so darn cute, oh my god ლ(⌒▽⌒ლ)

I'd really recommend it to anyone, and especially if you suffer from particularly dark eye circles like me. Click here if you want to buy it yourself, you will not be disappointed!

Have you tried this Brightening Eye Base, or love the Panda's Dream collection or Tonymoly? I'd love to know! o((*^▽^*))o

Beauty | Tonymoly Cats Wink Shiny Skin Base - Clear Lavender Review (Korean Cosmetics)

I've been sick with sinusitis for about 15 days now, which is my excuse as to why I've not posted in forever. Happy February, everybody! The year's really kicking in already, I can't believe it ( ゚Д゚)<!! Well, basically before I got sick, I treated myself to quite a few Korean make-up items from eBay, and by quite a few, I mean eight! I went a bit nuts ahahaha, I went all out and bought every item I'd need for a full face of make-up.

Here's the review of my first item! Tonymoly's Cats Wink Shiny Skin Base (updated link; original no longer available) in Clear Lavender, which is the shade designed for yellow toned skin. I would have ideally liked to purchase the Clear Peach shade, which is supposed to be for all skin types, but it wasn't in stock, and I do have slightly yellow toned skin. So here it is!

You can buy another alternative here (updated link; original from f2plus1 shop no longer available)

I actually didn't blend it fully so that you could see the contrast between my actual skin tone versus with the skin base. You wouldn't have thought it from seeing it in the first two pictures on my hand, but when blended properly, it perfectly matches my skin tone. When I first applied it I thought my face was going to be a weird whiteish purple ahahaha, but it really did match up excellently. Given that I'm stupidly pale, this is me hitting the motherload! I never find make-up that suits my whiteness very well, so I'm mega pleased! o((*^▽^*))o

For my fellow pale blog readers, as well as those with a more yellow skin tone, the Clear Lavender is wonderful for skin tone correction! It evens it out all over and gives your face a dewy finish (which I then cover with powder as I much prefer a matte finish, I just always need a liquid base otherwise my skin dries out). It seems to be a lot more difficult to get a hold of the other two shades of this Cats Wink Shiny Skin Base, although if you used it sparingly I don't see why it wouldn't work for those who are more tanned than I, so I guess it could work for everyone! (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧

I really love it, my old Rimmel foundation has taken a backseat in my bathroom cabinets and this little baby now takes pride of place in my make-up bag. Check it out using the links below the original image :)

Have you tried this Cats Wink Shiny Skin Base? Do you like Tonymoly?

J-Drama | Just Watched: Watashi ga Renai Dekinai Riyuu (私が恋愛できない理由)

Recently I've started trying to delve a little deeper into what Japan has to offer in terms of good television, and thanks to my reading of Tofugu, I've stumbled across the existence of Japanese Dramas, otherwise known as J-Dramas/Jdramas or J-Doramas/Jdoramas, and even found one that comes highly recommended: Watashi ga Renai Dekinai Riyuu (私が恋愛できない理由), or The Reason I Can't Find My Love.

I knew it was only one series long, but I didn't realise that there were only ten episodes, and therefore found myself watching the last 20 minutes of it with this sudden realisation that it was about to end, which I was severely unprepared for. I'd completely fallen in love with the three main characters Emi Fujii (Karina Nose), Mako Hanazuma (Yuko Oshima who is actually a member of the Japanese girl group AKB48), and Saki Ogura (Yuriko Yoshitaka), and had managed to burn through all ten episodes of the show in about a day and a half (although that's nothing remarkable, that's just how I watch TV series) by accident, as I just couldn't get enough.

The storyline is very sweet, it's about three young women who knew each other from their school's drama club who wind up living together. Each one has their own unique trouble with love, and gain support, comfort, and the harsh truth about whatever situation they're in from the other two. One of the taglines is that "women's friendship is thinner than ham", meaning that as soon as a guy comes along the girl starts ignoring her friends because she's loved up, which these three manage to thankfully disprove. It's all about trying to get out of the "love desert", and trying to find love, but knowing that staying true to yourself and following your own dream is what's most important.

Given the fact that I'm not Japanese *cry*, there were definitely some cultural parts that aren't mirrored in England which threw me now and again, but I can't exactly nitpick them as what was going on was always easy to understand (with the subtitles on... har har). It's given me the Japanese Drama bug, although I've done a 180 in terms of genre and have started watching a Detective show which I'll probably do a review on once I've watched a few more episodes. I decided I couldn't watch another romance-themed one, as I'm still in mourning over the ending of The Reason I Can't Find My Love.

Do you like J-Dramas? Have you watched 私が恋愛できない理由?

Beauty | No7 Beautiful Skin Normal/Oily Skincare Review

So I went to London about two months ago now, and whilst I was there I decided to treat myself to a little skincare. All my life, I have been an avid avoider of skincare; in the past, the most I have ever used is a few Clearasil blackhead removers, etc., which just dried my skin so badly after a couple of uses that I simply couldn't use them again. Lo and behold, my skin is not the greatest. In fact, I get quite self-conscious of it.

As I associated all skincare with drying my skin out and having to suffer with embarrassing peeling skin on my nose mostly, I used to just slap on concealer and powder for years, then added in foundation when I finally found one that was pale enough to not make me look like an umpa lumpa (my skin tone is quite ghostly ahahaha). Essentially, I was just clogging up my skin every day, for years now, up until about six to nine months ago, when I started a medication that made me physically exhausted, so much so that putting make-up on in the mornings was just too much for me. Since then I've switched meds a few times, but each time I have to go through the tiredness all over again as my body adjusts to them, as tiredness has been a main side effect of each. Therefore, I have not actually worn make-up for a regular day at work for many, many months.

Due to this tiredness and inability to find the energy required to put on make-up in the mornings every day, I decided to take advantage of letting my skin breathe, and try to clear it up a bit. Hence, with a push from an offer at Boots for 2 for 3 items on No 7 skincare, I took the plunge and invested in their Normal/Oily Skin range (as my nose looks undesirably shiny sometimes, and my foundation melts off sometimes). I bought their Foaming Cleanser, Purifying Exfoliator, and the Day Cream, as even though I hate moisturising and all that, I wanted it as a backup in case these products dried out my skin.

You can find the Foaming Cleanser, Purifying Exfoliator, and Day Cream online and in store at Boots.

I do really like these products, after using mainly the cleanser morning and night with alterations of the exfoliator for several weeks, my skin was definitely a great deal clearer and smoother than it used to be. Whilst I did still get spots on occasion, the frequency of them cropping up lessened, and with continued use even a few of my blackheads disappeared and the rest appeared minimised and were less noticeable! (*゚▽゚*)

I'm still using these products as they are definitely helping my skin, but I think I'm going to be on the lookout for more blackhead-oriented skincare products, as they're what I'm most self-conscious of. Do you use or like No7 skincare products? Let me know what you think in the comments below (○^ω^)

Beauty | Vassen Ifairy Pretty Crystal Blue Circle Lenses Review

Hello everyone! Another sparse post, I do apologise, but working full time as well as doing college three nights a week, on top of a private tutor all to get into University is taking up the vast majority of my time. That and playing Tomb Raider...

How are you all? It was my work's Christmas Party on Friday, and after taking full advantage of Pinky Paradise's Black Friday sale a week or two back, I decided to try out one of my new four pairs of circle lenses! I wore my new blue pair, the Vassen Ifairy Pretty Crystal Blue lenses. They're a brand I'd never heard of but they were the most popular blue pair out of all the blue lenses with a large diameter they had on sale, so I decided to give them a go. I'm very glad I did!

They looked a lot more natural than I was originally expecting. I think this was mainly due to the dark lighting at the party; if I wore them during the day time I'm pretty sure everyone would be able to tell. I forgot to take a comparison picture of my eye size compared to wearing the lenses, but if you've read my other circle lens review I'll just say that these are around the same size if not a tiny bit smaller, but obviously still big enough to make my eyes pop! ヽ(゜∀゜)ノ

These are the ones I bought:

And here's how they look on:

Without flash

With flash; see what I mean about really being able to tell in proper light?

Full face without flash (please bear in mind I hadn't done my hair yet)

And the finished look, with flash.

I do really love these lenses. I've always wanted blue eyes, and actually sort of not really considered that surgery which removes the brown iris, revealing the blue one underneath. Yeah, bet you didn't know that, did ya (^_−)−☆

I think that I'm going to save these lenses for nights out only. They're enough to make a difference without looking freaking weird like they would in broad daylight; I think that my only gripe would be that they don't blend that well, but that's more just 'cause I'm trying to put blue over hazel, it's not the lenses fault ahahhaa.

I can't wait to try out my green and grey Geo lenses, so stay tuned for them if you like my Circle Lenses reviews (○^ω^)

Anime | Currently Watching: Log Horizon (ログ・ホライズン)

I don't even remember how I stumbled across this anime, but basically I've just started watching this new anime series by the name of Log Horizon (ログ・ホライズン). It's really good! I'm really enjoying it so far, and according to Twitter so are quite a few other people, and for good reason! I'm up to episode seven at the moment, and I'm most definitely going to watch it all the way through to the end.

The show revolves around a young man by the name of Shiroe, who is one of millions to play the global MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) Elder Tale (エルダー・テイル). During the game's twelfth expansion pack update Novasphere Pioneers (ノウアスフィアの開墾), the thirty thousand Japanese gamers and several thousand worldwide players that are all logged on at the time of the update, find themselves transported into the game itself! Shiroe, and every other player, awakes to find himself in the body of his avatar, an Enchanter with the powers to cast superb support spells. He quickly teams up with his in-game friends Naotsugu, a Guardian with an "open pervert" disposition whom he was in the Debauchery Tea Party with, and Akatsuki, a beautiful Assassin with a penchant for kneeing Naotsugu in the face when he makes his perverted comments, who has helped Shiroe complete many raids before now.

Since everyone became trapped, the world of Elder Tale has taken a turn for the worse; players have started fighting players, and have begun teaming up and forming large guilds in order to protect themselves from other players and guilds, and to also make a bid for becoming in charge of the world. This is what I've gathered so far, but mostly I've just enjoyed watching this trio adventure across the land, helping out friends and people where they can, and trying to convince Shiroe of the benefits of forming a guild, who is supremely against joining any, or forming one of his own.

So far, I can't get enough of this series. It's funny, amazing to watch in terms of visuals at least, and watching Shiroe and the others learn how to use their game moves in what is now real life is actually really interesting. I can't even explain how much Elder Tale has made me want to join an MMORPG again (I may have created another little 10 day free trial account on World of Warcraft again, and no, I'm not sorry), because to be quite honest I think I'd love it if I got sucked into a game world! Log Horizon really is captivating in terms of both story and characters, and I personally love the concept, I think it's fucking ingenious, and really unique. Overall, 10/10, would bang. I can't wait for the next episode!

Overall:

Plot: ♥♥♥♥♥
Characters: ♥♥♥♥♥
Visuals: ♥♥♥♥♥
Audio: ♥♥♥♥♥

Recommendation:Yes! If you love gaming, unique storylines, and characters you can really get along and empathise with, then Log Horizon is the anime series for you, no doubt about it. It's fun, funny, and full of fantasy, which is just perfect for me :)

Have you watched Log Horizon? Are there any anime series you love or would like to recommend?

Beauty | Geo Princess Mimi Chocolate Brown (Bambi Series) Circle Lenses Review

Long time no see! I won't waste your time whining on about why I haven't been able to blog for the past month or so, but during this time I finally managed to get my greedy mitts on a pair of circle lenses from Pinky Paradise! I've wanted a pair for aaaaaaages, and I finally had a spare bit money and an occasion for trying them out: a Halloween party!

I always knew exactly what I wanted my first pair of circle lenses to be. I wanted the largest brown ones I could find so that they could blend in with my natural eye colour, and not be too noticeable. I wanted to be able to put them in, maybe add a little mascara, and feel like I'd done my eye make-up in a way, y'know what I mean? Put my lenses in, and feel ready to go without doing a full face of make-up. Now, I bought the Geo Princess Mimi Chocolate Brown lenses from the Bambi Series, so that wish didn't turn out exactly how I planned it, because these lenses are way too big to get away with every day wear as they're 15.0mm, the largest size lenses you can buy. I think that the next time I invest in a pair of lenses (which will hopefully be soon as they're ace :D), I'll treat myself to a pair of 15.00mm violet/blue/green lenses, as well as a pair of 14.8mm or 14.5mm brown lenses which I can get away with using for every day wear without them being too noticeable.

These are the ones I bought:

And here's how they looked on! Forgive the pictures, they recommend putting the lenses in before putting on make-up so as to lesson the risk of contaminating them, so please enjoy my awful bare face and still damp hair pre-party get up. Here are a couple for comparison between the lens and my regular, boring eyes ahahaha.

Without flash, one lens in on right eye (my left aha)

With flash, lens in right eye for comparison.
My eye looks wicked pink and sore, but that's my bad, it took me so long to get the lens in because I'd never put even a regular contact lens in my eye before, that the lens completely dried out and caused a bit of irritation when I finally managed to put it in.

Anddd the finished result, minus flash, plus make-up :)

Bonus picture of me drunk at said Halloween party... I'm so attractive.

Overall, I love these lenses! As soon as I (finally) managed to put them in, I felt like a freaking anime character. It was insane. The enlargement is off the charts, they were comfortable to wear all night long, and despite the contrast between my real eye colour and the colour of the lens when I take a picture with flash, in real life they blend in so well! I can't wait to try more colours when I get a bit of spare money, and I'm looking forward to wearing them on a night out with my friend Ashleigh this Saturday, we're going out 'cause it's her birthdayyyyyyyyyyy :) Any Fallowfield/Manchester-based bloggers, hollaaaaaaaaaaa!

Have you tried Circle Lenses? Are you interested in trying them out? Let me know!
